The IF/SOA would like to remind all of its members of the importance of attending union meetings. These meetings are held so that your union representatives can hear your thoughts and ideas. These meetings are a good time to bring up any and all comments and/or concerns. It is important that we hear from our membership, this way we can do our best to represent you!!
Please remember that these meetings are for your benefit. As such the IF/SOA does its best to make sure all meetings are run in a courteous and professional manner. Any individual who acts in a manner unbecoming a union member will be removed from the meeting. This includes, but is not limited to, threatening, harassing and profanity.
Also, Per Article XII Section 14 of our Constitution and Bylaws, Officers of this Union must, when possible to do so, attend all regular and special meetings. Should any Officer be absent from three (3) consecutive meetings, his/her office must be declared vacant. The only acceptable excuse for missing a meeting is when required to work in the plant, when on leave of absence, Reserve Duty, vacation or business for the organization, or in the event of death of a member of the family, or for serious illness. In order to be excused, each absentee must notify the President within ten (10) days after the close of the meeting which he/she failed to attend.
A meeting notice is posted on the IF/SOA bulletin board inside each P&W facility at least fourteen days before a meeting is to be held.
We look forward to seeing all of you in the near future!!
